FAQ's

1)    Is there going to be enough food on the tour?

Yes!!! You will enjoy a fresh local grind* pupu** style in each restaurant. *Grind=food **Pupu=appetizer. Each plate is designed to sample the best cuisine each restaurant has to offer.

 

2)    Do you accommodate vegetarians and/or allergies?

Yes we accomodate vegetarians, just ensure you let us know at time of booking. For allergies, we request a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to give the chefs enough time to prepare a special meal for you.

 

3)    How long are we at each restaurant?

On our dinner tours, we will be at each location for 45 minutes. The restaurants are always ready for our groups with our food and beverages, so there’s nothing rushed about the experience.

 

4)    How do we travel between restaurants?

We walk between all the restaurants, but they are never more than a few minutes apart. Hawaii has so much history, it gives us an opportunity to learn as we travel.  On the very rare occasion, it's raining, your guide will have umbrellas for everyone.

 

5)    ​ What is your minimum and maximum group size?

We require a minimum of 2 people to a maximum of 10 people on the regular tours. However, we can accommodate much larger groups so please use our Request for Proposal for more info for private tours or contact us directly.

 

6)    ​What time and where do the tours start?

MAUI:  Our Lahaina'Aina Awakea Lunch Tours departs from Martin Lawrence Art Gallery at 11:15 am. The Lahaina Lights Tour departs from Martin Lawrence Art Gallery at 5 pm. (click here for map). Please arrive a few minutes early to register as the tours will depart on schedule.  If you are late, the group will meet you at our next destination, please call your GastroNauts at 808.359.8159 for further info.  OAHU:  Our tours begin at 4:30 pm.  You can reach your GastroNaut there at the same number, 808.359.8159.

 

7)    How long are the tours?

The dinner tours are about 3.5-4.5 hours depending on the tour, but guests often stay at the last venue for a few more drinks as they are enjoying themselves.

 

8)    Can I come on tour if I don’t drink alcohol?

Absolutely! You will be offered specialty non-alcoholic signature beverages just let your us know before the tour.

 

9)    Do you have a hotel pick-up service?

No. Our guides will meet guests at the Meeting location specified with each tour. All departure locations are within your hotel shuttle drop offs and near a bus stop.  Click here for a parking map: 

 

10)   Is there parking at the meeting venue?

MAUI:  There is self-parking available downtown Lahaina, although, we recommend using your hotel shuttle or taxi if you are consuming alcohol.  Click here for a map.  Shuttle info from Ka'anapali Hotels:  http://www.lahainacannerymall.com/shuttle_schedule.html   OAHU:  There are four hours complimentary self-parking with validation and with the purchase of the tour.

 

11)   How old do I have to be to come on tour?

You must be 21 years of age or older to indulge in alcoholic beverages.  Click here for acceptable forms of ID in compliance with Maui County Liquor Laws.

 

12)   Is there a dress code?

No, restaurants in Maui are on tiki time and accustomed to seeing slippers (sandals) and aloha shirts. We do recommend comfortable footwear for walking between restaurants and dress weather appropriate.
